Kelsey Gibson discovered her interest in Fashion at the age of 16, when she began transforming thrift store finds to align with her personal style. She pursued her interest further by specializing in Fashion Design during her time at a vocational high school. This choice deepened her engagement with the field, particularly through a foundational course where her instructor, Mr. Oliver, taught her essential sewing techniques. Motivated by her growing expertise and interest, Kelsey decided to advance her understanding of fashion at a higher academic level.
Fashion Anarchy Competition on AHtv network (2022)
Fashion Anarchy, a streaming show based in St. Louis on AHTV, featured Kelsey Gibson in two distinct design challenges: Streetwear and Evening Wear. In the Evening Wear challenge, Kelsey was tasked with crafting an outfit within just two days, using only home decor fabric. This unique challenge showcased her creativity and adaptability under tight deadlines.
Kelsey Gibson is a Third-year transfer student at Columbia College Chicago. Her major is Fashion Studies with a focus on Product Development, accompanied by a minor in Sustainability. Kelsey possesses the ability to approach the workforce with a fresh and innovative perspective. She excels in bringing creative visions to life and has honed her skills in areas such as Patternmaking, Construction, Sourcing, and Supply Chain through her coursework.
These courses have equipped Kelsey with valuable skills including data entry and project management, which she has effectively applied in her internship roles. As an Operations Intern at Garmentier, Kelsey oversaw consignment orders and kept clients updated on tracking shipments. Additionally, she undertook a research project for Coach, investigating the brand's transparency and sourcing details.
Kelsey is currently seeking new opportunities and is eager to expand her professional network.
